During Heritage Week 2021, Tamworth Historical Society Inc. will present two events, the first being special tours behind the scenes at Calala Cottage Museum. Museum volunteers from Tamworth Historical Society collect and preserve a wide range of items from textiles to ceramics to diaries and furniture, musical instruments, photographs, maps, letters, agricultural implements and machinery – thousands of objects.

Come and see what goes on behind the scenes here at the Museum.  We have two tours on Saturday 24 April, the first at 9.30 and the second at 11.30am.  A delicious morning tea will be available in between the tours.

Enquiries and bookings can be made by telephoning 0407789894 or by email to E. tamworthhistorical@bigpond.com

Our second event will be on Sunday 2 May.  This is a Heritage Walk with Society life member and historian Rod Hobbs, who will be your guide on a fascinating stroll along Peel Street, revealing some startling and little known stories about the sites and buildings as you pass by.  It commences at 9am on the corner of Peel and Tribe Streets (the site of the original Old Saleyards), walking to Bourke Street, concluding about 12 noon.
